Netball & Rugby Tournaments

Yesterday afternoon our fields and courts were completely full as we hosted netball and rugby tournaments simultaneously. It was lovely to welcome so many children to Terra Nova from many different schools. It was also great to have any children who were not playing on the sidelines cheering on their school peers, making for a wonderful atmosphere. Our rugby and netball teams demonstrated incredible discipline and teamwork throughout their matches, communicating with each other efficiently and effectively.

The Under 11 Girls’ football team travelled to Repton for their ISFA Midlands Regional game against Twycross, they went down 1-0 in the first minute but TN showed great resilience to bounce back and a fantastic hat-trick from Mia F saw them win 3-1. A special mention to Emily G who was outstanding and worked tirelessly to regain possession for the team.

The girls’ netball teams played extremely well and drew all of their games in their group stage, they lost out in their playoff game by just 1 point!

Mr Stubbs talks about how hosting two rugby tournaments involving 14 different teams and over 150 players made for an exciting and enjoyable afternoon and our Under 13s battled hard all afternoon narrowly losing out in the Shield final. The Under 11s continue their preparation for Rosslyn Park 7s and remained unbeaten throughout the afternoon! Congratulations to our tournament winners, Wrekin College won the Cup and Kirkham Grammar School won the Shield.
