Awards Assembly

This morning saw a fantastic whole school Awards Assembly, and we were delighted to have the return of parents in the audience once again. Once everyone had taken their seats, our Headmaster, Mr Campbell gave a warm welcome and introduced our live performance for the morning.

Sammy H and Henry H took the stage and gave an outstanding performance of a scene from Blood Brothers by Willy Russell, they were fearless in their act and truly pulled the audience into the story and became their characters. When the boys took their bow the whole room erupted into applause and it was very clear to everyone why the boys recently achieved a high distinction with an outstanding score of 97% and 92% for their duologue acting exam.

Following this, certificates were handed out to the children who achieved various grades from Introductory up to Grade 4 in Verse and Prose, Reading for Performance and Acting. They received 8 merits and 10 distinctions! Well done to all and to Mrs Anderson for supporting our pupils in their speech and drama achievements.

Next we celebrated all of our sporting achievements from the first term. Our Sport Coaches announced the Player’s Player awards, a new award where each team nominates a player for their performance both on and off of the pitch.

This was followed by the coaches players, a pupil from each team who showed our school virtues consistently throughout the first term. A huge well done to all of our pupils who were named today, but also to every pupil who partakes in fixtures, as Mr Gerrard stressed, it is not just about an individual, but about teamwork. We would also like to congratulate our rugby and netball captains for the Spring term.

Rugby captain: Oscar R

Rugby Vice captain: Seb M-F

Netball Captain: Arabella W

Netball Vice Captain: Harriet A

Finally, our awards assembly was completed with Miss Deighton awarding a huge amount of Bronze certificates to our pupils. It was fantastic to see such a large number of pupils achieving their Bronze award. We hope everybody has a fantastic weekend, we are looking forward to next week and seeing how many house points our pupils can earn!
