The school community came together to commemorate Armistice Day with a Remembrance service in the school’s Performing Arts Centre. The service was opened by Headmaster, Mr Paul Campbell; the chamber choir performed an exquisite rendition of Song of Peace & Jerusalem, the Heads of School: Bella C (Head Girl), Hudson H (Head Boy), Anastasia (Deputy Head Girl) and Seb M-F (Deputy Head Boy) read readings and prayers and Mr Williams, House Parent and Environmental Science teacher addressed all pupils and teachers, powerfully reiterating the purpose of remembering those who gave their lives for the freedoms we enjoy today.
The Act of Remembrance took place, as is tradition, at the front of school. The names of the Old Terra Novians who lost their lives in the first and second world wars were read out and Year 6 pupil Billy B played The Last Post and the Reveille. The service closed with Mr Campbell thanking the children for the respect they displayed and urging them to take a quiet moment at some point in the day to remember the fallen.
