Last night our Years 7&8 pupils had the most magical, memorable night at their Leavers’ Ball. The theme of which was ‘Terra Nova Leavers Fest’ and our school fields had truly been transformed into the most beautiful festival scene; with pastels and soft lights everywhere our pupils were able to completely immerse themselves in the experience and let go of the feeling of being at school!
Our Year 8s arrived last as a united front in an incredible red vintage double decker bus to be greeted by their Year 7 peers. Also waiting to welcome the pupils to the event were parents and teachers who looked proudly on as our pupils arrived looking incredibly smart, certainly a moment to be remembered and treasured by parents and our pupils alike.
Our parents organised the most amazing night, it was not just an aesthetically pleasing sight, but there was also a huge amount of entertainment and activities on offer, including inflatable obstacles reminiscent of the days of ‘Total Wipeout’, the children had a blast as they competed with their peers to stay put on their podium. There was also an incredible magician, a saxophonist who played all of their favourite songs, an ice cream stall containing ice cream from Bidlea Dairy, a delicious BBQ, a disco and an amazing photobooth which resembled a miniature camper van!
After the disco section of their evening, our Year 7s departed leaving our Year 8 pupils to get cosy as they gathered around the campfire to exchange stories and memories of their time at Terra Nova, play games under the hanging lights and enjoy a firework display, before climbing into bed in the most incredible teepees!
A huge thank you to the parents for their extraordinary effort in organising this fantastic event, it was the most perfect memory for our Year 8 pupils in their final days at Terra Nova.
