The last two years at Terra Nova enables children to mature into teenagers during what can be a difficult time as emotional and physical changes occur. Terra Nova pupils can navigate this transition in what is a familiar, small and safe environment, unencumbered by the expectations of older children. In essence, their childhood is prolonged.

By remaining in a familiar environment, with the same friends, teachers and support staff, adolescence is made easier to handle. Students at Terra Nova School can also take advantage of our flexible approach to boarding, helping to further develop their independence.

Our pastoral care system is designed to support and encourage students’ growing independence, offering opportunities for students to explore their interests, build their self-esteem and develop a sense of identity at this crucial time in their development.
