At Terra Nova School, pupils in Reception to Year 8 each belong to a house. Houses compete in a range of inter-house competitions encompassing all areas of school life. From academic challenges through to artistic competitions and active / sporting events. A recent artistic competition has been for the pupils in each house to create Terra Nova house banners and this morning, in the first whole school assembly of 2019, the Terra Nova house banners were unveiled!

Mrs Fontes, Head of Art, described the Art room as creative chaos last term, whilst all pupils in Years 3 to 8 used recycled fabrics, ribbons, buttons, sewing machines and hand stitching to make small panels in their house colours. These were sewn together by one of our wonderful parents; Mrs Atkins-Moore. The fabric images of the houses were made by Art Club pupils, based on drawings made by Oska, Charlie, Iona and Annabelle. We are extremely proud of all our pupils who have contributed to these stunning banners and look forward to seeing them hanging in Terra Nova’s entrance hall.

Thanks also go to the Terra Nova Parent Social Committee (the TNPSC) for helping to fund the project.
