Year 7&8 pupils were thrilled to meet rugby international Hamish Watson when he recently returned to Terra Nova School where he himself was a pupil. An impromptu Q&A with Year 7 pupils impressed and inspired in equal measure! He explained that his own mantra has been to never give up and keep on persevering when dealing with injuries, defeats and other setbacks faced by a rugby player playing at such a high level. The boys were keen to understand what Hamish’s worst injury had been and when he had been most scared on the rugby field. They listened in fascination when Hamish described how he had broken his jaw and faced Fiji’s national team!

Hamish was already one to watch on the rugby field when he was at Terra Nova as he won the English schoolsboys national U13 trophy. He went on to attend Oakham School in Rutland.
