Terra Nova welcomed a number of schools to hockey and rugby fixtures this week. The level of ability has clearly improved significantly in the past few weeks and excellent teamwork was evident on the astro turf and on the rugby pitches.

Hockey: A busy week of fixtures, saw all the girls in Years 3-8 involved in matches. The U8s played their 2nd match of the season, putting the skills from training into matches. An unfortunate loss in the end, but it was a thrilling game nevertheless! The U9s, U10s and U11s, put out strong team performances winning their matches against Yarlet and Wilmslow. The final match of the week saw the U13s take on a strong and ultimately victorious S. Anselm’s team. It was an unlucky loss for our girls losing out 3-1 in a very competitive match.
Rugby: On Tuesday of this week the U8&9 teams played their first competitive fixtures of the year of tag rugby, this resulted in 14 wins out of 16 for team TN! The U10 rugby team performed outstandingly and secured a decisive win over Packwood  with the score 30-20. The U13 rugby team played Denstone initially and then played Packwood Haugh, finishing the match almost in the dark! Although the boys were beaten, they played brilliantly!
Well done to all of our hockey & rugby teams!
