Boarding is yet another fun and exciting aspect of life at TN that offers our pupils the opportunity to develop independence, self-discipline and resilience. Boarders are asked to engage with a code of conduct which gives clear expectations as to what is expected from a Terra Nova boarder. Miss Emma Hargreaves who has taught at TN for the past 6 years is the newly appointed head of boarding. Pupils at TN are able to board from Year 3 upwards.
Boarding costs £35.00 per night and begins at 5pm on a week day. In the hour before supper at 6pm, boarders will change into casual clothes, relax and socialise with friends. After supper there will be a supervised prep session before boarding activities begin. These will be organised by the boarding team. Mr Stewart, TN’s Headmaster will support boarding on a Friday night. During the week, activities will include arts and crafts challenges and games such as dodgeball, ‘beat the bell’ and ‘hunt the gappie’!; as well as the opportunity to socialise with friends, watch some TV and play computer games. Friday evenings will offer slightly different activities such as Christmas crafts, BBQ’s, pool parties and disco nights in addition to exciting trips out to Lazer-Quest, ice skating and Waterworld amongst others.
