After a lovely half term break we are very proud by how children have really settled back into school life. They have been very busy writing about their “Adventures in Space” in literacy and they have been impressing their teachers with their reading and writing. Mr Stewart (TN’s Headmaster in Sep 2017) enjoyed meeting the children on Wednesday and sharing a story with the children, I had the privilege of teaching a literacy lesson on Thursday and was impressed with the super sentences. Our Maths focus this week has been about money and the children have been recognising  and counting lots of different types of coins.
The children have also been making their own solar system by using play-doh and pom poms. We have had some fantastic planet creations!!
In Forest School, we were looking for signs of Spring and also the effects of storm Doris last week. The children had a fantastic time constructing dens, making bows and playing on the rope swing made by Mrs Mitchell. A great muddy time was had by all!!.
Reception were very excited to dress up for World Book Day. We shared and read our favourite stories and enjoyed acting them out, wearing our costumes. The children loved dressing up as their favourite book characters. We had Peter Pan, Dorothy Gale, Elsa, a magic unicorn and some footballers.
Even the teachers joined in the fun!!
Please check your child’s bag for a letter regarding swimming lessons to be held next term. Please return these to your child’s class teacher.
