This week in Reception we have been learning about Remembrance Day and what it means. The children have enjoyed colouring and cutting out their own poppies. They were very proud to wear them in class.
For our Literacy “Big Write” focus the children have been writing a list of things they would take into the forest. We have been focusing on the author Jez Alborough and have been sharing his wonderful stories, “Its the Bear” and “My Friend Teddy”.

In Maths we have introduced addition, subtraction and have been exploring different ways we can make 5.

We have been using water colours to make some fantastic paintings.

We are very impressed and proud of how the children have settled back into school after half term. We have also had some fantastic pieces of homework from the children. In their homework folder this week you will find a plastic wallet containing some keywords for the children to practice and also a spelling book for them to practice writing the words as well.

Please could we ask that your child has waterproof trousers, a coat, hat, scarf and gloves in school.
