This week the children have had so much fun getting ready for Halloween and exploring autumnal weather. They have been carving out pumpkins exploring the flesh and seed. The children used some wonderful describing words – slimy, slippy, stinky! Lots of fun and learning has happened, we compared the different sized pumpkins using mathematical language – heavy/light, big/little and how many scoops of pumpkin flesh can fit inside a bowl?!! We have also been practicing our harvest songs ready for our Harvest concert on Friday.

The scented play dough – cinnamon and ginger – has been a hit this week. The children have been working on developing finger strength for mark making skills. Strategies from squiggle while you wiggle!
