The Year 6 Terra Nova students had the pleasure of visiting Shrewsbury School on a taster day, gaining just a snapshot what life at a senior boarding school would be like.

The first stop on our journey through the school was the rowing facilities, each child was able to experience some state of the art training facilities by entering the rowing tank and racing on the rowing machines. The next stop was the Eton Fives courts, which were all designed based on the chapel court from Eton College where the game originated in 1840. The children were given a  short introduction to the game and then asked to take to the courts before heading to lunch!

After sampling the perenially popular fish & chips Friday lunch we were onto our final activity of the day. As we entered Shrewsbury’s World Class indoor cricket centre we were sure this was going to be a fantastic end to the day. The Shrewsbury staff provided an energetic and exciting lesson for the children, using only a fraction of the amazing equipment available to them.

We are all very grateful for the opportunity to visit Shrewsbury School and would like to publicly thank the staff who were there to ensure the TN students had such an enjoyable time. Our students they spoke very highly of their experience and would certainly love to visit again!
