Before half term, Year 2 wowed their parents, families and friends with their class assembly. They showcased all they had learnt about their topic ‘Please look after this bear, Paddington’, including fascinating Amazon rainforest facts, the locations of rainforests around the world, the different layers of the rainforest and the animals that live there. They shared detailed weather reports from South America, demonstrated their debating skills through a balanced argument on deforestation and even performed a Paddington Bear puppet show using puppets and scenery created in the original 1970’s style. The children amazed themselves as well as the audience with just how much they had learnt in just half a term and are already getting stuck in to the next element of the topic: ‘The interesting Incas’! Congratulations Year 2!
