Year 4 showcased their extensive knowledge of China learnt in this term’s studies in their assembly and immersed themselves in their China Day. Their creativity shone through with the making of terracotta warriors, kites and pagoda paintings. The audience were told about the many inventions of ancient China and heard all about the sights of China and Shanghai. Both sides of the debate as to whether pandas should be kept in captivity were heard. We were rather split on this one! Many of the children were amazed at the length of their shadows in the Science topic and also by how much they changed during the day. There may well be many children badgering their parents to take them to China for their next holiday after they had planned their trips and learnt so many wonderful things about this amazing and exotic country!
