HEATON MERSEY FESTIVAL SPEECH AND DRAMA RESULTS 2017 by Mrs Anderson, Speech & Drama teacher

16 Terra Nova children from Years 3-8  took part in the Heaton Mersey festival on Saturday. They performed in various classes from solo drama to poetry and prose reading. They won an impressive amount of silverware between them. I was particularly thrilled that Sophia won a cup that my old speech and drama teacher won in 1976! The children behaved beautifully and performed brilliantly. I was particularly impressed by the way the different age groups supported and encouraged one another. Well done to all of those who took part. Thank you to all the parents for their wonderful support over the weekend.  The results are as follows:

Ruby and Edward performed speech and drama in the prizewinners’ concert in the evening. Sophia, Flora, Willa and Ruby also sang. We have subsequently discovered that Edward was awarded ‘the best overall performer’ in the entire festival. All the children were fantastic and we were all so proud of them.
