If you thought English is just about comprehension and spelling then we definitely ‘Have News for You’. Over the next few weeks pupils will be given the opportunity to celebrate English in many different ways! Firstly we would like to invite as many pupils as possible to take part in Radio 2’s “500 words” story-writing competition. There are two age-categories, 5-9 and 10-13, and there is lots of information on the BBC website. Any pupil who decides to enter will have be seen as flying the flag for TN in their quest to be the next Roald Dahl and will receive the support required from school to organise their entry. Secondly Yrs 7-8 will be entering the IAPS National Poetry competition on the theme of “New Start”.

March 2nd is World Book Day. Vouchers will be distributed worth £1 which can be exchanged for specially written books ranging from Peppa Pig, through Horrid Henry and David Walliams, to a scary Michael Grant.

Terra Nova will be holding a “Come as your favourite Character” costume day too!

Looking forward to the end of term, we shall be inviting all pupils to take part in “Extreme Reading” as in previous years. More details will be sent out nearer the time.

May you always Express yourself Clearly, and May your Bookmark go with you!
